I’m getting a pug puppy soon, and I do not want a plastic bowl, and I don’t prefer a boring metal bowl. But are there any negative factors of choosing a ceramic or stoneware dog dish?

I know the ceramic dish glaze needs to be lead-free, but should I know anything else about ceramic or stoneware dishes, or are they perfectly safe?
