I have dreams like this a lot, too. Especially the kind about the end of the world. Usually, in my dreams, society has already collapsed and those of us remaining are struggling to scrape out an existence in the abandoned cities and glacial wastelands left in the world.

As a psychologist, I could hazard that apocalyptic dreams are stress-related, and that those of us who have them feel like we are out of control, under appreciated, and rarely listened to. This has been my experience, anyway.

However; there is one other commonality I've seen in people who dream of the end of the world: we all make good storytellers. We think in the linear, which means that rather than having a dream that is just a jumble of feelings and images, our dreams actually follow a PLOT. They have conflict and resolution; they have characters and a storyline. It's like our minds are writing books in our sleep.

Although your dreams may be disturbing, you have to admit that they're also very intriguing. You've got some good movie ideas going on here. You might want to consider taking up writing as a hobby, or at least keeping a dream journal. Don't waste your good ideas, even when they're frightening.
