I have a almost 8 year old Lab/ Golden mix who just visited the vet a few days ago, & has another appt on the 17th for surgery, ( she will be 8 on christmas) But the vet says that she has now entered her geriatric years & needs arthritis meds & a pool to swim in. the problem is We cannot find a pool that allows for a ramp on both sides ( inside & out) so she can get in & out ans still have room to swim around a bit. ive looked at pet co & pet smart. cant find what im looking for. she is also going in to have a thyroid & diabetic test( the Geriatric test is what it is all called) they check for everything, & like my vet said, she is certainly old & she now moves slow, but still is happiest when she is swimming she is our baby ( our daughter) & we want to make the rest of the time she has go easy for her, we want to make her happy. she loves to play, just has a harder time with it. Can anyone suggest where i can find a pool ( with in out ramp) so she can still enjoy her life? i Don’t want a 7/8 hundred dollar pool as her surgery & testing is already costing close to 900 dollars. I would rather pay no more then 120 to 200 dollars for one if i had to pay that Much. we may have to have another surgery if the lump that was found turns out to be cancer.. ( not to worry) doc said it can be treated if we catch it early. right now he plans on looking at it on the 17th. yes the Doctor confirmed she has entered her geriatric years.

i have bed , crate , food , chewing toys , treats , dog carrier , winter clothes, bowls for feeding and water what else should i have im a first time dog owner and want to be perfect please help! oh if it matter its a shih tzu and hes only 8 weeks oh and i made a vet app for a check up..Thanks alot!

The vet told us to put 1 teaspoon of table salt on the back of her tongue when we did she threw up all the chocolate in less than 3 minutes. Some advice if you dog eats something it shouldn’t.

I have a weimaraner dog, he’s 100lbs. He’s a big dog though, bigger than normal, not overweight, and drinks four full water bowls a day ( about 128 oz) He also has been eating a lot. We give him three cups of food in the morning and three at night, and he’s been eating our other dogs food, and our cat’s food, he’s been eating uncontroably. Are we feeding him enough, or is there an underlying problem. Does this warrant a visit to the vet?

I have a new puppy and it used to eat this triangular kind of puppy food, royal something or other, but it wouldnt eat much. Right before we decided to change the food she got sick, and we took her to the vet, and the vet told us to giver her some rice and chicken , until she was all better. She got better very quick, and after that even ate some dry dog food. After she got better we decided to gradually change the dog food. So we put a lot of triangled ones and a couple of round ones which I think are (iams). She wouldnt eat neither. As a matter of fact she would pick them up place them on the floor and start playing, she really enjoyed playing with the round ones. So eventually I just picked it up and put it in my hand so she could eat it.

Now my dog will only eat from my hand and not the food bowl what should I do?

I take very good care of my pooch. Just tonight when he poo’ed, I noticed a small white moving thing coming from his poo. I scooped it up to save for the vet tomorrow. Nothing has changed except I take him to the dog park once a week. He really doesn’t play with the other dogs but I make him run alot. He did drink from another dogs bowl….how could he have gotten worms?

my dog is way over weight and I’m not sure what to do.we have 2 other dogs and he usually goes around and eats the food that is left in the other dogs bowls.we have tried to put him on a diet and it has made him lose a few pounds but the vet says that he is still over weight.I had another dog that was a male and the same breed and I’m not sure if maybe it is just the way male dogs are like in that kind of breed.He is a beagle.please,I need any info I can get.thank you!

A friend of mine suggested to me the other day that his vet told him that if you feed your dog a bowl of milk everyday it will excrete an enzyme onto your dog’s coat that will aid in the prevention of fleas and other insects.

Has anyone ever heard that plastic bowls take the color off a dog’s nose? With our old golden the vet said a certain type of bowl would make this happen? Is this true or just a myth?

They’re hard and sometimes puss comes out before blood. Also, i’ve squeezed them and hair has shot out! The vet says that he has over active keratin. He bleeds all over everyone because they pop so easily. I’ve changed his bowl to stainless. How can I treat his face?
