Why does my cat continuously knock over her water bowl?

She is a solid black, American short-hair. She is going to be 4 this November. She is an indoor cat and is the only cat in our apartment, no dogs or other free roaming animals.

I bought her one of those half gallon water bowls with the small water container on top (as she drinks it, the bowl refills itself). Only problem is, she seems driven to knock this thing over and spill water everywhere. I tried tying this water bowl down, tying the container on top to the bowl on bottom then tying them both to the corner of a microwave stand, she still manages to knock it over somehow.

So, we downgraded to a small water bowl. Nothing fancy. Well, she does drink out of it but every night when I come home from work, the bowl is halfway across the kitchen and the water is spilled everywhere. The bowl sits on the floor so it’s not like she knocks it off a ledge and it rolls. She HAS to be moving this bowl on her own …less my apartment is haunted (don’t put that thought in my head).

I’m at my wits end with her. I love her to death but I never thought a damn water bowl would be so much trouble.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Why does my aunts dog only drink out of my dogs bowl somtimes?

My aunt and her dog Annabelle have been staying with us for a few months because we are buidling a house and she is buying the house we are moving into and stuff. Not explaing. lol. Well her dog Annabelle somtimes only eats my dog Sahlens food and drinks out of his water bowl. Is there a way I can get her to drink out of her own stuff? I cleaned both bowls and gave them fresh food and water. My dog went to his bowl and drank a ton of water then my aunts dog looked at her water like stood by it but when Sahlen left his water she went over there and drank his.

How to retrain my dog to drink water from his bowl?

My dog (a 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback) has been drinking water from the bathroom tap and I want to break the habit. I put a water bowl down and he won’t go near it. He’s been whining all day wanting to drink and goes straight for the bathroom door! Any suggestions on how to do this?

How do I introduce a new dog to my old dog?

I have an 7 year old male toy poodle at home and I am planning another toy poodle bu this one is female and just 6 months old. My dog is quite the jealous type and is not used to having strangers in the house. He gets very stressed and agitated among stranger and he acts like he’s gonna get a nervous breakdown when he sees other dogs. I am quite worried about my old dog, how can I introduce the new to him that would minimize the stress of change? Should I also expects my old dog to share his bed with new dog, there is enough space and should the new dog have her own water bowl and litter box? This is the first time for me to own a female dog, do female dogs have other needs? and when will she be ready for mating?

Is there anything I can use to get rid of slugs that won't also poison a dog?

Slugs appear in my garden every night. They climb into my dog’s water bowl and/or food bowl and leave trails everywhere. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them that won’t be dangerous for the dog, who lives outside?

MY dog keeps putting water or other things in her good bowl. Any idea why?

My dog uses her nose to slash water from her water bowl into her good bowl, often soaking her good before she eats it. She will also take various things sometimes toys or other items laying around the house, and puts them in her food or water bowl. It seems a little obsessive.

Why does my cat put all her toys in the dog’s water bowl?

My kitten has 2 beanie babies she carries around, but every morning I find 1 of them floating in dog’s water bowl….along with anything else she feels is funny to put in there. If i dump out the bowl at night she sits and yells about it……I can’t win! I’m just trying to be 1 step smarter than a 8 mth old kitten!
Anybody’s cats do this? Why???
